Pipe and Drape System hows and whys

Pipe and drape system could be the most cost effecient way to set up a short period but versatile exhibition equipment. Mainly there are two types: 1.5' and 2' pipe and drapes, which means there are two types of uprights and bases, the cross bar however, is always 1.5' diameters.

What's the difference? Well, the 2' diameter is more durable and more commonly seen in rentals, party planners and weddings, also, since it's more sturdy, it's more fit for transportation.

Also, there two main styles of pipe and drape systems: the slip-fit type and the screw-in type. Screw-ins are old fashioned pipe and drapes, and the got their name because the uprights are screwed into the bases, which means their uprights pegs are fixed. Constantly compose them would result in damaged parts

The slip-fit are more frequently used these days, unlike their older brothers, slip-fits are more durable. They are largely seen in trade shows, weddings, church and other occassions. Just like their names, their uprights have pegs or pins that slips into the bases, which gives the advantage that it is less likely damaged and they are much much more convenient to compose. Putting up the drapery weren
t be so hard either. These types of pipe and drapes can breakdown to four parts: Uprights, bases, drapes and cross bar. However different manufacturer may produce different slip-fits that aren't compatible to other pipe and drapes. Especially when the 1.5's don't go with 2's.
