RK provides a good different kinds of cross bars. Basically, they can be categorized into two main sections: standard and telescopic.
Standard cross bar mainly used on old fashioned pipe and drape systems where the length of pipes are fixed, and the whole height of the system is likely inchangeable. But since there are a lot of demands, RK provides several kinds of standard cross bar, all length ranged from 3x13 to 8x13. The telescopic drapery cross bar is more convenient to use than standard cross bar. One telescopic cross bar actually consists of two pipes and one clamp (if it has one adjustable clamp). The clamp is usually in the middle of the pipe, with it you can adjust the pipe to a length that you see fit. It is more adaptable and versatile than the standard one. Also, since the cross bar is consists of three parts, it can be installed and deinstalled, easy for transportation.
